  • not this recent winter but the one before, I got sick with the flu...which isn't new for me, usually I'm down for one to three days and feeling mildly crappy. Last time around, though, I had a fever well above 103 for about five days straight. Two of those days it was up at 106. I've never been hit so hard with a flu. I don't think I was feeling right again physically for about two weeks afterward.
  • This last winter there were some bad flus going around the Bay Area. SO many people at work got sick. I swear by one thing: Wash your hands before you eat. I've been doing it for years, and I've seen SO many people get sick around me, but I've come thru unscathed (of course, I do get sick once in awhile). This past winter was particularly bad around here.
  • My lovely wife teaches kindergarten... For the last 8 years she would bring home something "new" to try out... O have a pretty poor immune system and she would e fine, but I would lose a week to sickbed every fall and every spring. This year though, I am (knock wood) unscathed...
    • I get the flu every year. And it alway's comes home with the kid's from school.

Someone pointed out on another thread that it is cheaper to buy crap -processed- food than to buy healthy. (garden garden garden) I think it is our food supply and our daily choices (in addition to the super resistant bugs that are out there.) There are so many factors too. (travel) But I think if your immune system is strong your body is able to fight most of it all off. I suggest removing all chemicals from your diet. .. if you haven't already. There may be a time where we have to resort to eating crap so might as well eat as good as possible now.
I believe the most important decision you make every day is what you put in your bodies.

You can sure taste the difference in home grown cattle and vegtables vs. store bought crap.

I just got back from Peru, working almost 7 months in the jungle and the earthquake damaged zone of Pisco.

We got sick as SHIT in Pisco. Even worse in Mississippi after Katrina. I probably have a supercharged immune system after all that though, we got so many damned parasites... I almost don't want to visit my grandparents now though, but my brother, an ER doctor, said I should be fine.
